Beautiful Affliction A Memoir Lene Fogelberg

As much as I love to read I do not normally read women's memoirs but this one caught my attention for several reasons and I am so glad I took the time to ask to review it. As I was sent a copy of the book as well as given one for a review.

As I sat down to read it I thought to myself you better grab some tissues as you may need it. Well I did not do it. So I had to get up and grab some. As soon as David saw me he said  he knew it would be a book I loved as I am a sentiment fool. Which I must admit I am.

So as I read it I could see this mom dealing with her fears and struggles as she dealt with the possibility of dyeing. So as I read the book I could see myself in her place and I was scared to death. I did not know what to do. Or what she should do.

In the story you hear her cry's for help and they just break your heart. As well as the love for the man in her life and her two daughters. So as I came to the end of the book and saw how it ended I could not stop asking myself what will happen next. Will there be a sequel and if not why not? As I am sure there are individuals out there like me that wants to know what she is doing now and why.

If you would like to check Beautiful Afflictions for yourself you can purchase it on Amazon at:

Women’s Memoir

About Beautiful AfflictionLene Fogelberg is dying and she is sure of it, but no doctor in her home country of Sweden believes her. While Lene is battling with the unnerving feeling of death, a love story enfolds her with the man who will become her husband, enchanting surroundings, and later, her two beautiful daughters. Although Lene is overwhelmed with happiness she can’t help but think—Will I die young?—a question that she has carried in her heart since childhood that threatens her sanity and everything she holds close to her.

However, when her young family moves to the United States, her relentless question is finally answered, a diagnosis. Lene is in the last stages of a fatal congenital heart disease that has gone undetected. But is it too late?

Courageously honest and often harrowing, Beautiful Affliction delves into the inspiring account of growing up and living on the verge of death while finding bravery, love and beauty along the way.

Know A Dad?

This is my dad and there is so many reasons I can say he is the "BEST FATHER" ever but then I look at David's dad and also David Jr and I have to rethink him being the best as I am blessed to have three very special men in my life. Plus my Nephew so I would like to not only wish then all a "Happy Fathers Day"!! but to let them know I love them more than life itself.
This Father’s Day Ask Him To Take A Stand For Daughters Everywhere

When it comes down to it, Father’s Day is about expressing gratitude. It’s a chance to reach out to the paternal figure (or figures) in your life who helped you become the strong confident woman you are. Here on BeautyforaPurpose.com, we are also celebrating Father’s Day as an opportunity to empower daughters, everywhere.
You see, if we want to create a world in which more women are empowered, we need everyone’s support — Dad included. So this year, we are asking fathers who want the most for their daughters to sign our Father’s Day Pledge. It’s a way of saying that together, we can raise the bar for girls and women around the world who dream of equality — whether it’s in on a playing field or in a conference room.
If you share this wish — and think your father might, too — ask him to digitally sign our pledge. You can customize an e-card or post one of the images below to the social media platform of your choice to give him the nudge. An e-card is no substitute for a good old fashioned “I love you.” So, make sure to let him know he’s #1 when you see him or settle in for that Father’s Day FaceTime session Sunday, June 21.

THE BEAUTY FOR A PURPOSE FATHER’S DAY PLEDGE

We believe in the best possible futures for our daughters.
future where they don’t just feel equal to their brothers – they ARE equal.
A future where women are empowered to follow their dreams, and they enjoy the journey.
We are men, we are husbands, we are fathers, and we are brothers. We pledge to stand firm and stand together for all Daughters, everywhere.
