Today I would like to share with you 3 new toys Charlie and I have gotten from Educational Insights. You see as a mom who is struggling to teach her son his numbers and ABC's as he may go to school this year I always look for toys that will teach him.

So when I was offered the chance to try out the Hot Dots Jr sets and there pen from Educational Insights I knew I wanted to as it can help Charlie learn and it is something he can do on his own.

Charlie loves to pull his chair up next to me while I am working and ask to do his schoolwork which is nice. He reaches into his desk chair and pulls out the hot dots and sites starts to work.

Before I know it I have stopped my work to watch him but you know what that is OK as I work from home and I am able to do that.

There is 2 pens you can pick from Educational Insights that go with the Hot Dot series there is a dog and a cat. I picked the dog for Charlie but there is days when he has friends over and they both would like to work with the Hot Dots and so I am going to order the cat so he has it as well. Plus I can use it when they are not.

The first set I got from Educational Insight is the Beginning Science set. I like that there is 26 cards which gives him 72 activities as it keeps him busy. Knowing that it is for 3 to 6 years old is nice as this means Charlie has 2 1/2 more years to use it.

One of my favorite things is that the cards fit in a sturdy case so they will not get lost and they will not get messed up. Plus it is easy to take them with us.

Once Charlie starts school I am going to see if his teacher has heard of Educational Insights and show her the kits if she hast not as I think all schools should use these.

The second set I received was the ABC's and they have helped a lost with getting Charlie to learn his ABC's. Before I got them I was using books and that was OK but he would lose interest and I would get frustrated since the pen wiggles and lights up and it tells him if he is right or wrong he is more apt to sit and do his letters. I have noticed since we have started to use it that he now knows his ABC's which is great as I was starting to think he would not learn them before he went to school and that would have been horrible.

The third item I have gotten from Educational Insights is there pen that goes with the Hot Dot sets. I picked the dog for Charlie as he has a dog of his own. His name is Ace and Charlie likes asking for him by name. He will climb up in his dads recliner with Lucy his puppy and ask me for his desk and Ace and one of the Hot Dot sets and site and do his work. He says "Mommy I need to work now". I like hearing Ace tell Charlie he is right and that when he is wrong Charlie does not get upset he just try's again as he does not want to upset Ace he says.

If you have never checked out Educational Insights Please do. As this is not the only two Hot Dot sets there is several more and I can tell you I plan on getting them all for Charlie for Christmas.

Educational Insights Laptop Jr.

With school being out for the summer I was trying to find ways to keep Charlie from getting bored and as usual Educational Insights came to the rescue and sent me one of there laptops for Charlie to try out. I must tell you I was so excited when it arrived that I had to open it myself to check it out as it says for 3 and up.

He is going to be 5 in Dec. and I was wondering if it might be to young for him but it is not. There is plenty for him to do and even my neighbor whose little boy is 2 1/2 uses it.

Let me tell you some of the things it does that I like:
There is over 126 activities when I was looking for him a computer at Christmas most of the ones I say did not have this many things to do.

Another thing I like is that it works with the ABC's and we have been working on them.
I like that it has cards to use with it.

It is portable so he can take it to my sisters which is wonderful.
I like that he can play it alone or with someone or even in have teams.

I can tell you this has been a huge hit in our house and he is learning so much with it.
If I had it my way I would get it for every child I know. I think it would make a nice addition in pre school classes as well as daycare's.

If you have not visited there site Please do as I will tell you you will not be disappointed. Now let me tell you the best part I have one of the laptops to giveaway to a lucky reader.

Little Microscopes for your Little Scientists

I think this is Daddy's favorite product as him and Charlie Love to use the slides and look at the different bugs then they go outside and try to find them. Which is good as it is getting them to do more things together.

Not good for mom though as Charlie likes to bring in the bugs he finds for mom to see. Which makes me scream as everyone knows I am not a bug person. Which sets Charlie to giggling and more determined than ever to find more bugs.

Guess I better toughen up if I am going to be a boys mom. As he has not only brought me bugs but dead Rats too. I know moms EEK and Yuck. But what can you do other than Love them. So I am off today to look through the microscope with him and to go bug hunting, I know once he starts his Science class I will be taking this with him to it.

I think the teachers and kids will Love it.

Alpha Catch Me If You Can Educational Insights

Charlie is in Pre School this year and so I wanted to try this out with him as he is learning his ABC's and this has been a big help.

We even took it to school to share with the teacher and she fell in Love with it.

If you have a child who Loves sports and is having trouble learning then I would suggest you try it. It does help quite a bit.

Alpha Catch is the fast-paced, physical way to practice letter names and sounds. Kids take turns tossing self-stick balls, catching them with the sticky catcher's mitts, and playing fun phonics games about the letters on each ball. It's a phonemic awareness home run!

Games include:

Letter Line Up - "What letter is that?"

Ace the Sound - "What sound does that letter make?"

Beginning Sounds Catch - "Say a word that begins with that sound!"

Ending Sounds Catch - "Say a word that ends with that sound!"

Middle Sounds Catch - "Say a word that has that sound in the middle!"

Word Catch - "Can you make a word with the letters you caught?"

Round Robin Play - "All questions above are asked as a group of kids tosses and catches the balls

Ring My Bell Educational Insights

I was not sure I would like this product because as a MOM I could see Charlie using it to get my attention or to drive the dogs up the wall. But when we both got sick and our throats hut to talk it came in handy. Plus when he is playing outside all I have to do is go to the door and ring it and he knows it is time to come in.

So I must say I think this is one of my favorite products this month. Another reason I like it so well is one of my friends has Cancer her in the apartment and a lot of times we could not hear her when she spoke to us so now she uses the bell and we know she is speaking to us.

No Yell Bell

Need to get a hold of your kid’s attention? Save your voice and let our handy electronic bell do the work. Features 7 fun sound effects, including a bugle call, cheering crowd and -of course- a clanging bell.

The fastest word-builders win this quick-thinking, head-to-head word game. Two players or teams draw cards and set them down next to each other, face up. I Love this game for so many reasons but one of the most important is it has brought my husband and I closer as he has trouble reading and we have been playing this game and it is helping him think how words are spelled and it has made him decide to look words up which he has never wanted to do.

Plus he has even gotten it out when he has been at his mothers to play with his grandads which is nice as it is bringing them closer and he feels like he is doing something with them. I can even tell his mom is impressed with the game as she has insisted  on buying all the grandkids one for Christmas as it will help them with there spelling and help them in school.

If you have children who struggle with there spelling then I would suggest you check into KABAM. Please check out there site.
