Among the Fair Magnolias Thomas Nelson

During the most turbulent decade of our nation's history, four Southern women---their destinies forged by birth and heritage---face nearly impossible choices on their journeys in life . . . and in love.
To Mend a Dream by Tamera Alexander
Savannah Darby would do almost anything to revisit her family home.
So when the new owner Aidan Bedford seeks to redecorate the house for his fiancée, Savannah jumps at the opportunity. But can she find the box her father supposedly hid there during the war before her assignment is completed? And before she sees yet another battle lost on the home front---this time, a battle of the heart.

Discover the world of creative storytelling that will send your child's imagination soaring.

As everyone on here knows I have my son help me with my blog. As well as any other business venture I tackle. As well as David. So when I was approached to share Gabriel's story which is a business a mom and son are building together I knew without a doubt I needed to share it.

Here is my Charlie eating before we site down to work!!

But I knew David and Charlie would feel the same way. So today as I sat down to work on the blog Charlie asked me if I had shared this yet and I said no. So Charlie being Charlie "says why not"?? SO without further ado here is Gabriel's story!!
I hope you enjoy it as much as Charlie and I did and I hope you will take the time to visit there website and to purchase something to help Gabriel with his goals as Charlie and I plan on purchasing some of the books as well as the Cards.

Gabriel's Story:
This storytelling card game is a way to help inspire creativity by using a child's imagination. Many children get writer's block. They spend half of their time just trying to figure out what to write about. I am one of those children. I thought, wouldn't it be easier to have a picture to prompt an idea? And with that, this storytelling card game was born. With wonderfully illustrated pictures children will become inspired to create fun and imaginative stories to write about or verbally tell. This is a card game and can be taken anywhere. Children can use it for their story writing or as a fun game to play with family and friends. This game is engaging. Want to get a group of people to suddenly bond and laugh together? Play the game and instantly fun ensues.
Game Info:

There are 54 cards in a pack with instructions on other uses of the game, including writing prompts. I have created a single card pack as well as a deluxe card pack that will contain over 100 cards plus a special gift. The single card pack will cost around $10-$15 when produced. Our goal is to get the price as low as possible for our customers. We are working to put it on Amazon. For right now it will be sold on our website at www.reneeahand.com

The Books
Some of the perks will include books by Gabriel's mother, Award Winning Author Renee Hand. She wishes to support her son in his endeavors. The Adventures of Joe-Joe Nut and Biscuit Bill Adventure Series are mystery books that are science based and interactive. Teachers in school districts or homeschools will be able to use these books as a cross curriculum for students in 2nd to 5th grades. They fill a niche. They are mysteries that cover topics such as animal tracks, rocks and minerals, and weathering, erosion, and art. The newest book will incorporate Greek Mythology.
This is what the books are about:
Book 1 is The Great Pie Catastrophe
In this story each page is surrounded by animal tracks that pertain to each suspect, and at the end of the story there are animal facts and questions pages. It is the case of the missing pie.

Book 2 is Mineral Mischief

In this story each suspect collects a specific rock and mineral. For example: Liam the Llama collects igneous rock like gabbro and diorite, but there is one rock in his collection that has a very unique property. He shares that with you as do they all about their collections.

Book 3 is The Secret of the Missing Arch

In this mystery Joe-Joe Nut and Biscuit Bill get with local famous artists of Acorn Valley to create one of a kind paintings about the weather. They are apart of a fundraiser to raise money for animals who have lost their homes because of the weather. Flooding, drought, what have you. At the auction readers will learn 2 things. One, is what inspired the artists to paint such amazing paintings. Two, meteorologist  Rainstar will explain the science behind the phenomenon. Readers will learn some great information all while solving a mystery.

Book 4 is The Parade of Heroes

Greek History abounds in this 4th adventure in the Joe-Joe Nut and Biscuit Bill award-winning mystery series. Joe-Joe and Biscuit are visiting Acorn Valley's Greek Festival when mysterious things begin happening. Greek hero balloons for the parade are stolen, as are other Greek related items throughout the town. With the parade being a day away, will Joe-Joe and Biscuit be able to make the connection between the items and solve the case before all events are cancelled? Educational fun is added to the back of the book that will enhance learning as readers dive into the world of a Greek mystery. This book will satisfy the standards schools are requiring for Greek Mythology. Great to use in the classroom. This is a fun way to cover this field.

Here is what some people have said about this series so far
.
Hand's first entry in the series, The Great Pie Catastrophe, won Creative Child Magazine's Seal of Excellence Award, along with her second entry Mineral Mischief, which won a  Creative Child Magazine's Preferred Choice Award. With so much to recommend this entry is rich in presentation. A glossary of weather terminology, artist bios and activities for kids are included.
"An engaging and delicious mystery/educational series with a fun pair of animal detectives and several well-crafted storylines." --Kirkus Reviews

"The all-animal cast of characters participate in the mystery and deliver educational and environmental 'lessons' that combine seamlessly as Biscuit Bill and Joe-Joe Nut work to unravel the mystery of the missing research and paintings. One of the most unique aspects of the book was the information found at the end of the story. These end-pieces included information about weather and several weather experiments that can be conducted in the classroom. This delightful chapter book mystery is for older elementary children - highly recommended!" 5 Star Review by Eileen Johnson for Readers' Favorite

    Alexander, Spy Catcher

Diane Stormer has worked as both an artist and as a flight attendant. She is retired, and lives in Maryland with her family. She currently is working on a sequel which will be titled "Alexander, Treasure Hunter". Alexander, Spy Catcher is her first novel. The cover illustration is also her creation. http://dianestormer.com/
    Alexander, Spy Cather
As everyone knows I love to read and to share my love of reading with Charlie, So when I heard about this book I thought it would be one he would enjoy. I also though that it might be something David would not mind listening to. As he has trouble reading some books and so I figured I could read it to them. I am so glad I decided to do this as they both enjoyed it so much. I have even seen David pick it up and try and read it to Charlie and to me this is a huge thing. As David always refuses to even try to read with Charlie and it makes me so frustrated. I am so afraid this is going to cause Charlie to struggle with reading as well. As my doctor told us that boys whose fathers read to them will come near and finish school it makes me want to push David into reading to Charlie and so I fight not to get into it with David. I just get books I think Charlie would enjoy and I read to him. If it does not work then at least I know I did do my part. So with Alexander, The Spy being a chapter book I would read a chapter or two each night until we finished the book, There was many nights that Charlie did not want me to stop reading but I would as I knew it would make it easier to get him into bed the next night. What Charlie did not know though is that sometimes I would go ahead and read ahead as I knew that I would not be able to go to sleep if I did not know what was going to happen. Charlie also though it was neat that there Uncle who disappeared was also named Charlie and I think this is one of the reasons he enjoyed this book so much. Knowing that this is her first book I can not wait to see if she comes out with others as I do want to read them as well. This book has lead us to the library to find more books on spy's that we can use in our home school reading class which is great. Charlie says they only thing he would change about the book is that he would add pictures to it and I also think that that would be nice to have as we could see what all the characters looked like. The last 2 weeks Charlie has gotten into coloring so much more than he had been.

Don't get me wrong we still go outside but now he wants to take his paper outside and draw. As someone that can not draw at all and is no good at coming up with crafts for us to do I decided to browse the Internet. I must say I am so glad I did as I found this book for us and also one on Mothers Day Crafts so now we can make things instead of spending money which is going to be great for us as we did not have any extra money to spend. Plus this way I know I will get a Mothers Day gift as Charlie and I will make it together as my husband tends to forget this day. I tell him a card would be nice and he just says I know so I have learned to live with it and not gripe as he is a good husband and father but I do still get upset. It makes me want to forget him on Fathers Day, but do I? No, I make him a cake and Charlie and I get him a gift and a card as I want Charlie to see how he should be treated when he has children and we do this on Mothers Day for all the moms we know and I stress to him once he is married to never forget his wife. Do you get Mothers day gifts or cards? If not how do you handle it? How does it make you feel?
