Learn How to Help Your Kids Learn Review and giveaway
Learning Link Technologies is a company that has been dedicated for over 20 years to develop a program that uses various activities to help any child succeed at their grade level. The Learning Aid program utilizes:
- retraining of the brain to rebuild neural passages in the brain
- instructions that are easy to understand
- hour long weekly sessions & daily sessions of 20 minutes each
- weekly and daily sensory building activities
- lesson plans by the week that are easy to use and understand by anyone
- Tried and true formula for success that helps children reach success at grade level
Learning Link Technologies has found that the main problem is that the students are given the same material over and over whether it worked or not and cannot learn if the material does not work for them. The solution lies in a holistic approach that goes straight to the source of the issue and nips it in the bud. By combining cognitive training, visual processing, auditory processing, and kinesthetic/hand-eye coordination; the child can learn more easily and have less stress. When approached to do this review I almost turned it down because Munchkin 2 is already one grade level above where he is supposed to be (4th instead of 3rd) and still in gifted classes and Munchkin 1 is not in school yet so didn't feel I would benefit from it. BUT then a light bulb went off in my head and I realized that I had the perfect person to review this product, that would not only benefit from the product but also give an honest review with the good and the bad and I knew that this program is great for children with minor or severe learning disabilities as well as those that are not considered learning disabled. ADD, ADHD, Autism spectrum disorder, Dyscaculia, Dysgraphia, Dyslexia, and other learning differences can be aided by this program. Munchkin 1's cousin is autistic and his parents had been having a heck of a time trying to find the right activities to help him thrive and really just get through the day. He was at his wits end and so were they. Everyone was exhausted! So I figured if it didn't really help that much then no harm, no foul.....if his mom was willing.
Well his mom was more than willing and grateful. I gave her all the necessary information to access the lesson plans and she got started right away. Here is what she had to say about the product and her little ones progress:
"The first week was difficult to get in the swing of things. You could tell he was not super excited and attention span was lacking. I can say in just the first month he has already increased the amount of time he works. I was skeptical at first and week one was difficult to get him to do. He struggled to listen, follow directions, or understand me.
Week two I kept doing the tasks. He really liked dot dabbing and really started to get into some of the tasks. I was surprised to see him participating even with some of the skills being over his comprehension level.
Week 3 we've just been doing the work. It seems he is becoming comfortable in a routine now more so than the work we were doing before. I cant say I really noticed a change but his OT surprised me with "What ever you are doing keep it up as hes really improving his attention span!"
Week 4. This week he has started asking for some of the tasks on his own. I think fly trapping has him won over this week. I have to say having this program has freed up a lot of my time since I am not looking for activities that may help.
I went for his IEP meeting today and they say they've noticed the last few weeks he seems interested in working and is trying when before he was more of an observer. He also has increases his recognition of shapes, colors, and numbers more in the last month than the last 3 months combined. "
As you can see she did have a little trouble getting him to start the program but after a little bit he began to appreciate the lessons. She is still working with him and hopes to see much more improvement. The program is a year long so there is a long road ahead but we are thinking positive. If he has made that much progress in only a months time then just imagine how much more progress he can make in 11 more months!!!
If you have children or know someone that would benefit from this program, buy it! You will not regret it and your children will not either!
