Labels and so much more

Today I would like to share some items I was sent from Tomoson from Lovable Labels as they where kind enough to send me and Charlie some to try out. Even though I was sent a package all the thoughts in the review are mine and Charlies alone.

With this being Charlies first year in school I am not sure what to expect and so when I was allowed to review the labels I was so excited as I knew that if I needed to label anything I would be able to thanks to Lovable Labels. Plus I would be able to share the company with everyone I know as this would allow them to try it out with there own families.

I was sent there Back To School pack and I was so excited at there was over 165 labels in the package which meant we could label everything and not worry about running out. Plus I knew as much as Charlie likes labels that if he had a chance he would use some when we where not ready to so having this many was wonderful.

I love that these come with a instruction booklet on the best way to use them. As I had purchased labels from other companies before and they did not come with instructions and we tried to use them and ruined them which caused us to not only waste the labels but to waste money as well. Which I hated as money does not grow on trees.

Inside the packet I was sent was the following types of labels.

Regular Sticker Labels and these are used for lunch kits as they are both micro wave and dishwasher safe. I could use them to label his school supplies. The DVD's he takes to his friends and the list goes on and on.

For Charlie and I we used them to label not only his school supplies but his dads items he uses for work as someone keeps taking his dads stuff. Now we know Davids name is not Charlie but we knew if someone had something with Charlie on it that it would have been David's as he is the only one at work with a son named Charlie. I even used it inside Charlies Bible as he has left it at Church before and this would tell them who it belonged to. When I was not watching Charlie he even started to label his cars.

The next labels we tried out was the Slimline Labels and they say they where for pens and pencils and hair brushes and so on.

Charlie and I used his to label his Knick Knacks he collects as he likes to take them for Show and Tell once school starts. I also used them to label his computer he has that he can take with him when I am out working.  Since they are UV resistant I have even used them on his shirt when we go to the park as sometimes he gets hot and take it off. This stops others from taking it.

Shoe labels these are made to fit inside the heel of the shoes and I can tell you they work.

Then we had some shoe labels and I used them on all his shoes so we would not have to go through thousands of them when we go to the Jump Parks or to Mc Donald's. This saved us time as all we had to do was look for the shoes that had labels on them.

Fun Stickers are ones they can use to label anything and just have fun with.

Charlie liked these the best as I let him have them and told him he could label anything he liked. Who would have ever thought that would mean labeling me, his dad and his dog but he said he wanted people to know we belonged to him. Kids whatcha gonnna do with them? Except LOVE them? LOL

Press and Stick Clothing Dots are so you can label there  clothes.

I used this for Charlies Bathing Suit as he went to camp and a lot of the boys had the same suit he had. I also used them for his T Shirts and Jeans as he likes to spend the night with his friend and they have some of the same clothes. This way I did not have to worry about them getting them mixed up. If your child attends school or a day care you should check into them.

Iron-ons these are for there jackets and sweaters and things.

Charlie used his on not only his jacket but all of his Hoodies as well.

Then we also had some Allergy Alert  Labels but since Charlie dose not have Allergies at this time I put them up as you never know if he will develop  them or not as his dad did.

Original Bag Tags these are for Back Packs and things as they can hook onto anything.

Charlie is so funny he used his to hook to Lucy his puppies collar and then took it off and hooked it to his bike.

Mini-Metal Tags these can be used for Duffle Bags and Key Chains.

Since Charlie has been wanting his own key to our house I used the one we received for this. But I will purchase more as these would go great on his back pack and help him identify it as so many kids end up with the same ones.

Lovable Labels Back To School pack came out with 8 new designs this year but is only around for a limited time so you need to make it a point and order yours soon.

Movies Anyone

Today I would like to talk to you about a site called IndieFlix this is a site where you can steam movies. I found the site through Tomoson. IndieFlix let me use there site in exchange for a review. So I would like to let you know even though I used there site that all the thoughts in the review where mine and mine alone.

I am not one who normally watches movies as I have a 5 year old who likes to talk through them so when I was given a chance to try out this site and to watch them on the computer I jumped at it. I figured this would allow me to take a break now and then and hide in my office and relax.

Did that work of course not as one day I was watching one of the movies and my son walks in and ask what I was doing. I told him I was working and watching a movie for it. So next thing I know he grabs his blanket and pillow and climbs up beside me to watch the movie with me.

It was nice to just sit and cuddle with him without a lot of interruptions but since David was supposed to have been watching him and Charlie disappeared on him he ended up coming into my office to see if he was with me.

Once he did and found out we was watching a movie he decided to join us. In a way that was nice but there went my me time. But that was OK as I was able to show them some of the movies and they found some they liked as well as I did.

I will be subscribing to the service as it makes it nice when Charlie and I go to work with daddy as he can watch a movie or if he has to go to work with me he can do the same thing. I also like that using the computer to watch the movies means I can take it with us when we take trips.

I liked the wide variety of shows they have to see as I found some all of us would like to watch. With David working all night he can watch a movie on the computer now in the office and not wake Charlie and I up. This is going to be wonderful as Charlie will start school soon and not be disturbed in the middle of the night.

Here is one of the movies I think I would enjoy.

Charlie would enjoy these two.

Now for David I can not tell you what he would or would not like as he is so different from me but what I can tell you is that I would not be surprised if he did not sit down and watch every single movie on here as he is that big a fan of the movies and tv.

If you have not heard of IndieFlex I hope you take the time to check it out as it is so easy to use and it has such a wide variety of films that there is something for everyone.

They evern offer Gift Memberships which would make a nice Gift for those on your Gift Giving list who love movies as much as you do.

If you are looking for a way to earn some extra cash then you should check into there affiliate program.

If you do make a purchase to the site you can use your membership on up to 5 devices. I like this as I am not always on the same computer.

You can even use this on your X Box.

David's Birthday

Bon Appétit!

Davids Birthday is this Friday and so this morning when the little one got up with me we decided that we would browse online for some items we could purchase for his Birthday. So since we are in the new house I decided that we could look for some knives for him as he loves to cook and has been saying we need some nice ones. Since we have gotten married this is not something we have ever bought for ourselves.

So I found a new store I had not looked at before and it is called Bon Appeetit and I must tell you they have such a huge variety of items that I could have stayed all day looking and never gotten tired. I asked Charlie what he thought of the store and he said the same thing I did.

I asked him if he found anything for his dad as we wet through all the catagories on the store and he said he not only found items for his dad but also for his Aunt for Christms and for his granny as well. I asked if he found anything for himself and he said "well of cours". Then I asked if he found something for me and he said he could not say as it would not be a surprise. So I am sure that was a yes.

Charlie and I clicked on the bar section for David and also the Coffee section but they said coming as they are expanding and that is OK as it gives us something to look forward to.

Here is the knives I found for him but if this is not your style of knives then you can visit this link  as there is many more on there.  It is called the Guide Delta Series Steak Knives. http://bonappetitcookware.com/collections/cutlery

4 pc. set

Once on the site I saw a coupon off on the knives and so now would be a wonderful time to purchase them. If you are like me and like to save money. Plus before we know it Christmas will be here and you will need lots of Gifts.

Lemon Green
My dad has been wanting a new skillet to cook Fried Chicken in and I found this one on the site and there is a lid to it. So this would make a wonderful Gift for him. If you are not found of green it comes in other colors but I think it is a fun color.

Just from Bon Appetit alone I will be able to purchase everything I need in my kitchen and I will have top quality products and not have to worry about them falling apart and replacing them in a year like I do the ones we have now.

So before I give away everything on the site I would just like to ask for you to visit it. Once you do let me know what you found that you can not live with out. As I have a coupon you can use to save on the purchases you make

Please help

Dear Friends,
A friend of mine is collecting items for the Pediatric Heart Unit at Medical City Children’s Hospital in Dallas.  I have committed to donating some of the new Avon baby and children items, and I wanted to reach out to see if any of you would be interested in either doing the same or donating other items on the list. Plus, all of your donations will be reported to Champions For Kids for their Spin Into Action campaign with Kid’s Spinbrush, which means your donation will be matched, up to 1000 items, by a fun toothbrush for children in need!  The blog that is collecting these items is also willing to list you as a donor and link to your website, if applicable.
Many people don’t realize how many items aren’t provided by the hospital, items that help these sick and recovering babies and children stay comfortable and get better!  Here’s a few of the needed items:
·         WubbaNubs :: These pacifiers with connected stuffed animals are great for babies recovering for surgery, as they are often too weak to suck hard enough to keep a pacifier in their mouths. These little animals help keep the pacifier in place for when baby is ready to suck. Since pacifiers help these babies feel comfortable though pain, the WubbaNubs are a pretty hot necessity.
·         DVDs :: DVDs are a great distraction and boredom buster for these bed-ridden children. While they have a fairly large selection, they are missing many highly requested movies, including the Disney classics, Disney Princess movies, and the most requested: Cars.
·         Spinbrush Toothbrushes :: Come to find out, the Spinbrush products are actually wonderful for the toddlers and up for many reasons. First, the children are able to take control of their health and get back into the practice of caring for themselves, which is very important. Second, brushing teeth is an activity that nurses can use to get the children to sit up out of bed. Third, the thick handles are easier for weak, post-surgery hands to hold and operate, causing less frustration. You can find coupons and more information on Spinbrush’s website.

·         Baby Leg Warmers, Socks, and Mittens :: Many of the babies in the Heart Unit came straight from delivery. With all the tubes and cords, they are unable to wear clothing, yet they still get cold. Baby Legs function to add warmth without hindering the medical equipment.
·         Quality Bubbles :: Bubbles are not only fun for the kids, they are actually very beneficial to healing as it gets the children to take a deep breath and expel air. The cheap-o bubbles are often watered down and can be frustrating to the children, so make sure you are getting quality bubbles.
·         Lullaby CDs :: The Lullaby CDs are a great tool to help children and babies stay comfortable and sleep a little better.

·         Newborn Headbands :: This item makes me want to cry. Newborn size headbands with flowers and bows are needed items, as many parents fear that the first time their baby meets family and friends may also be their last, and they are concerned that their baby looks as pretty as possible, despite all the tubes and cords.
·         Clip-on Mobiles :: Since most of the babies are not in regular cribs, traditional mobiles aren’t always an option. Mobiles that can clip on to the surgical lights overhead are a hot item.
·         Underwear :: Many of the children that end up in the Heart Unit come from the Emergency Room, with nothing but the clothes they came in. With nothing but a hospital gown on, children can feel uncomfortable or embarrassed.
·         General Toys :: Toys are always popular in the Heart Unit. For example, the one plastic doll house is a much requested item.
·         Crayons, Glue, Scissors, Markers, Dry Erase Markers (washable, scent free), etc. :: Craft supplies are always needed. There is often a shortage of crayons and glue. These art supplies are also used by nurses to help children portray their feelings and even communicate when unable to speak.
·         Treasure Box Goodies :: It is difficult for the nurses to get children up and walking, so there is a treasure box with high-quality toys to reward children who get out and roaming the hallways. Since these items aren’t shared, there is a little more flexibility in what you can give, but the hospital likes to keep quality items in this box to make sure there is ample incentive.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you in advance for your consideration.

I miss you

Today is a day I am struggling to work. I am missing my daughter so much today it is unreal. In the past two weeks I joined a new Candle Company and they have a candle called Tulip which is her favorite flower and they had one in pink which she would have loved. I can not wait until I am able to purchase one. It was nice as God directed me to the company and it was only $1 to join.

Then the other day I was on Facebook and a lady named Jodie Cooper emailed me to see if I would like to conduct a review for her from her company. Jodie is with Bath-Ologie and you can check it out at http://www.bathologie.com/ If Suzzane was here I know with out a doubt we would be checking out some of the items as they allow you to make your own Perfumes and these would have made wonderful Gifts.

I was thinking today it would be fun to design one with Suzzane's name on it to give to my mom and my sister for Christmas. As well as for my niece and step daughter with there names on it as this is something they have never had.

I love the fact that you can host a party and earn free items or that you can start your own business and teach others how to make there own perfumes. If I had the money I would think about joining as I have not seen it in Texas. Which would be nice as it is always good to get in on the Ground Floor of a company.

When Jodie wrote me and told me about the products and how they worked I knew it would be something I would share with my friends and family. I have not tried any of the products as of yet but I hope to in the future. They have so many different products that it would be hard to just pick out one to try but if I did I would go for a scrub as I love them.

A fun new book

This morning when I woke up I decided to read a new children's book I was sent to conduct a review on. Before I share my thoughts on it though I would like to let you know I was sent a Digital Copy as well as a code so I can check out the application on my I Pad.

The book is called The Surreal Mother Geek and it is written by Diana Pressnell.  I was not sure about the book when I was first asked to conduct a review on it as it is not something we would normally read. But once I sat down and read it I found that I enjoyed it a lot. I loved how each Nursery Rhyme was made of a traditional one and that they tell us which one and what beat to use when we sing it. I also liked that it told us how to act out some of them.

I can not wait to share the book with David and Charlie as they will enjoy it just as much as I will. When I was reading it I kept thing this reminds me of Charlie. I like that as it means he will enjoy it as much as I do.

I have been working with him on the days of the week and different things to get him ready for School and there is a Rhyme in there on the days of the week and it tells what each child is and Charlie was born on a Sunday and what it said about Sundays child fit Charlie to a tee.

At the end of the book it explains a lot of things such as what a geek is and it is in language a child can understand and relate to and I liked that.

I loved all the illustrations and colors they used in the book. I could have just looked at the pictures and not even bothered with the story as it is so well illustrated. At the beginning of the book it tells you to look for something but I got so engrossed in the story I forget to look. So when I read it to David and Charlie I am going to have them look while I read and see if we can find what they where talking about.

If you have not heard of this book I hope you take the time to check it out as it is a wonderful story for children of all ages. I think it should be in a library as well as in schools. Once it is out in print I know I will be purchasing several copies to give as gifts.

Charlie and I love us some Charlie Brown

I was sent a code to conduct a review for them but the thoughts in the review are all mine and my families.

Charlie Brown's All Stars!

Even before Charlie was born I used to refer to him from the Peanuts Gang and I knew that his nursery would have some items with the Peanuts Gang in it if I could find it. His first nickname even before he was born was Peanut. Then it went to Charlie Brown. There has been times when he has introduced himself as Charlie Brown Lightening McQueen.

So now that he is 6 he still loves Charlie Brown and Snoopy and we have some of those items in his room. With a new baby coming soon I am going to share the items with my Nephew as this is what Charlie wants to do with them. I was so Proud of him when he decided to do this.

In the past couple months since we have moved into the new house Charlie has become obsessed with Baseball and wants me to sign him up to play. But with the hours David works and only one car I can not do that. He also wants to play Soccer and I can not do that either.

I hate telling him no no he can not play. So I have been looking for things related to sports he can do online and this is when I found the application from Charlie Brown called Charlie Brown's All Stars and contacted them to let me review it for them.

I was so happy when they sent a code for us to us. Charlie and I have been playing it all day long. Charlie loves how he is able to do some of the things on the game such as filling Linus pool. He has said it makes him feel like he is right there with the Gang. He wants to share it with everyone he knows which tells me he loves it. I like it as it is fun to play and easy enough that Charlie can do it by himself.

The other day David was home and he even sat down and they played it together. I had not heard them get along so well in a long time. Plus I actually heard them laughing together and neither of them got mad and walked away.

I loved it and I think that this will be something we will always have in our home.

It’s the bottom of the ninth and the team is down two-zero… It’s Charlie Brown’s chance to be a hero. Will the Peanuts gang win the biggest baseball game of the summer?
Charlie Brown’s All Stars! magically springs to life in this charming interactive storybook designed for your tablet or smartphone. Peanuts fans will delight in sharing this classic story of team spirit and friendship for a whole new generation of underdogs!
Touch, tilt and swipe your way through tons of summer fun with your favouritePeanuts characters! Take to the mound with Charlie Brown, swing a bat with Linus and make a very special uniform with Lucy and the rest of the team. And don’t forget to hang ten with Surfing Snoopy and practice your skateboarding tricks with the gang!
Narrated by Stephen Shea, the voice of Linus van Pelt, this classic summertime story of team spirit and friendship comes alive with beautifully re-mastered illustrations, voices and music from the original 1966 animated TV special.

Cree and Scooter

*I received a digital copy of Cree and Scooter to read and share with my readers. Any opinions expressed are my own*

Cree and Scooter is a new children's book that I found through searching for things for Charlie to do on Google. I am so glad I did as it teaches us new words in a different language and it helps us travel to places we might never be able to visit. Such as Canada and next year China.

As a child I had a Mrs Beasley doll that I told all my hopes and dreams to just like Cree does with Scooter. Since Charlie has started to read and check out the site with me he has found out if he keeps a stuffed animal with him he might not be as scared at night. This has even helped him to decide to sleep in his own bed.

I love how through this book we learned some words in a different language and that we also learned about a new Country and that there was a map for us to look it up on. I used the book to teach our History lesson. So if you are the parent of a little one then I hope you check it out.
