Only we do not have any as his company does not offer it.
So everyday I worry and Pray he is not hurt or that the little one does not get sick.
So today my fears came true as I was cleaning our house. You see we have a metal dust pan and I was sweeping and my son was behind me and I hit him in the eye cutting it open. Thank God he did not need to go to the doctor but if he had I worried about how we would have paid for it.
So this weekend I will be searching for insurance for us and I found this site today that offers free quotes so I will be checking into it.
My thing is besides Health Insurance what types should I look for and how much?
I know we need life insurance but after losing my daughter when she was 16 and struggling to bury her should I look for life insurance for my son as well?
How about renters insurance since we live in a apartment? How much do you get for that and where do I look at?
I am thinking of checking into www.Tenant.net.
Then there is car insurance and we all know we have to have it.
So my questions is how is someone supposed to afford all this when they do not make much at all.
If I do not get them all which ones should I get?

Oh I'm so sorry. I have recently learned that Insurance is one of the most stressful and sucky things in this life!
I used to be in a similar predicament - the only job my Hubs could find was part time, and since my school closed I lost my teaching job and we lost our insurance.
We had to do all kinds of research. Not only could we not afford COBRA (for people who lost their jobs) but I was PREGNANT and no one would give me insurance PLUS my Hubs has Diabetes - a pre-existing condition.
We ended up having to get insurance from the state. :(
My husband did finally find a new job that offered insurance - thank God and it kicked in in January of this year.
The best deal we found before we got the state insurance was through State Farm - our car insurance. You could try them. (The wouldn't cover me though because I was pregnant).
Best of luck to you!!

Insurance is such a nightmare when you do not have it. I know that for me health insurance would be #1 but of course it is a small fortune. Does your state have a child coverage plan that your son could at least be on. I know here in RI all children are covered by the state if they are at a ceratin income. I would at least look into that. It is the middle-class people that have the most trouble with this since free is not an option due to income but paying is astonomical. I would call insureance companies and see what they can offer you. See if they can work with you to get a cheaper rate...
Good luck!
