Crossroads of Life - Change of Direction

Just as people change with time, so must their blogs. Over the last year or so, since The Blog Farm began, it has gone through many changes, some good, some not so good. I guess that is a reflection on life itself, but as they say, change is good.

During The Blog Farm's infancy it attempted to be all things to all people, providing a variety of blog articles regardless of content. Some would say the it became a menagerie, moving readers from religious and reflective stories into current event and political commentary, filtered with reviews of books, authors, movies and other material that did not reflect the original intention. Looking back over time, examining page-views and traffic, it becomes obvious what our readers want to read.

The amazing thing is, what the readers want is exactly what The Blog Farm wanted and intended to provide before getting off track.

When I began the farm it was my intention to provide those interesting stories from personal blogs that seem to never get found or read. Musings about life and family, the inspirational and reflective observations from regular people with ordinary lives that can share the ups and downs of living. From the heart wrenching articles speaking about how we all deal with death, illness and lost love, to the motivational pieces that inspire us with hope, gratitude and happiness. Stories about life that can bring a tear or make us laugh.

So change is in the air... From this point on the primary direction of this blog will be to provide our readers with articles about life. Stories that make you feel something, whether you call them musings, personal observations, inspirational or reflective articles, we will seek out those blogs that write about what is happening in their lives.

Current obligations require this to be a transition, but as we move along you will notice the change. The Blog Farm will be more selective in our syndication process, approving only those sites that bring the desired content. This might affect our bottom-line as far as paying our bills, but in the long run I believe future visitors and our current dedicated readership will enjoy the change, and after all, making our readers happy is what it is all about.
