I have never been one to worry about my skin and how or what I use to clean it. I know that this is not good but I am always so busy that I just throw water on it and walk out the door. But with me approaching 50 soon I knew that I should start to take better care of my skin. I am already older than all of Charlies friends moms and I would hate to embarasse him or David. Thank you for this information! We can definitely help you get rid of excess oil, ease sensitivity, and have a bright, healthy, younger-looking complexion for a lifetime. There are three main reasons why your skin is not as beautiful as it could be right now, all of which are very quickly and easily fixed. I'll describe them first, then after that is the regimen we recommend for you. 1. You are using a drying form of cleanser and not getting your skin optimally clean. All liquid and rinse-off cleansers, even those with some good ingredients in them, are drying by their nature. It’s just a natural fact of this form of cleanser. (Cleansing wipes are just cloths soaked in liquid cleanser) They all leave a thin film behind that builds up every day, further drying and irritating your skin. Then you follow with a toner, further drying it. Toners are great after something with a little bit of oil in it, like a cleansing milk, to cut through any remaining milk or daily build up of make up and oil. But after something that's already dried out your skin, it just makes a bad situation worse. Also, liquid cleansers are not good at removing oil, impurities or make up. You need something with a bit of oil in it to dissolve these daily deposits. Think about it - if you put your lipstick on and then drink water, the lipstick stays put. But eat a few French Fries and it's gone! Finally, it is very important, no matter what products you use, that you wipe them off with a soft, hygienic cloth. (This is not the same as wiping products ON to your skin, as you do with a cleansing wipe) For now, if you just wipe off your cleanser with a soft, wet, absorbent, hygienic cloth, you'll be doing your face a favor. No amount of rinsing with your fingers will thoroughly and completely remove all traces of product, oil and impurities. And no cleanser of any type will get your skin as clean as a bar of soap -- the trick is to get the cleansing benefits of soap with none of the drying side effects that occur when you just use soap and water. That's what our special Sandwich method is all about. 2. You are using foundation and powder. While we understand the appeal of covering up skin problems with foundation and powder, these products actually contribute to the same problems they are designed to cover up. Your skin is never clean with these products on them and they deposit dozens of unnecessary ingredients on your skin. Over time the pigment builds up in your pores and causes uneven skin tone. All foundations are at least a little drying but powder is the worst - it sticks in the pores and is difficult to remove. And one of the purposes of powder is to dry out your skin to give you a matte finish. Finally, unless you clean them after each use, the brushes and puffs you use to apply powder and foundation are not sanitary after the first time you use them, so you end up re-applying previous days make up, oil and impurities. Not a recipe for healthy skin! If you can give up powder, or at least keep it to only special occasions, you will see a big improvement in your skin just from that. The goal of our system is to not need to cover up your skin. This is a goal thousands of women have achieved after just a few weeks or months on our cleansing system. 3. Too much aggressive exfoliation. Next to avoiding the sun, exfoliation is the most important element for healthy skin. In your case you are over-doing it by using chemical exfoliation with products that have alpha or beta hydroxyl acids, and also mechanical exfoliation with various types of scrubs. All chemical exfoliants work the same way, by dissolving the "glue" that holds the skin cells together so they fall off faster than they naturally would, and reveal newer, fresher skin cells below. So basically they work by irritating your skin. But they do not actually clean or remove anything. Many people can see a good result at first, but over time, the daily dissolution of the skin structure causes increasing dryness, redness and sensitivity. Then on top of that you are also using scrubs with abrasive powders, which make a paste that sticks in the pores, and also scrubs with abrasive particles that are irregularly shaped and do not dissolve. These scratch the surface of your skin and pull at and stretch your pores. Any one of these alone isn’t good, but all of this together is way, way too aggressive for anyone’s skin. We offer a healthier alternative, that works in harmony with the natural processes of the skin. In our system we exfoliate with the Refining Scrub in The Sandwich and with Instant Radiance exfoliating mask. We exfoliate without chemicals. Our scrub melts as you add water so you can adjust it to the perfect texture for you The scrub gently removes any dry, dead skin and it will also remove the liquid cleanser film that has been building up on your face over time, as well as deep cleaning your pores, which it doesn't sound like is a part of your regimen right now. Once you start removing the dry skin that's building up and preventing further build up, and once you really get in there every day and clean out your pores from the make up and the daily accumulation of impurities you will very quickly see smaller pores, improved tone and firmness, and a bright, glowing complexion. Here’s a tip: It is true that some people naturally have more active oil glands, especially in the T zone. If you find you get a little shiny during the day, just wipe it with a tissue – don’t try to dry it up with powder or strong cleansers! Often it’s perspiration as much as oil anyway. If you are willing to stop what you are doing now and use our system for just a few weeks, you will see and feel the difference the first time you use it and the longer you stay on the system the better and better your skin will become.
