Take Homeschooling Out Of The Home.

Take Homeschooling Out Of The Home.

Many parents teach their children at home instead of sending their child to attend school in a brick and mortar setting. Just because you child doesn't leave home to go to school it doesn't mean that you can't take fun field trips. While you wouldn't want to take your child on trips too often as that may seriously interrupt the flow of your homeschooling lessons, occasionally you can take homeschooling out of the home to make learning fun for your child.

There are several ways that you can achieve this. You could take your child for a walk to the park pointing out the various parts of nature. For example you could teach your child the parts of a leaf while actually showing them a real leaf. When you are teaching them about soil you could show them in the back yard or nearest park, the different soil layers.

To keep homeschooling fun there are many trips you can take your child on that will still teach them but in an interesting way. If you have any child oriented museums near where you live that would be a great place to start where they can learn how and why things work the way the do.

A science oriented museum is another wonderful learning environment that you can bring your child to. A text book or a computer isn't the only place your child can learn about lightning, dinosaurs, levers and the human body.

Your child will have fun while they are learning. You could stop occasionally during the learning trip to reinforce key points that you want your child to remember. You could also have your child write about all that they learned on the trip that day.

Your local zoo is great learning environment as well as your child sees all the animals from their texts books spring to life. As you walk around admiring the animals take the time to teach your child a few facts about some of the animals.

Lead your child towards exhibits of animals they may have never heard of before like gazelles, dwarf mongoose, otters and meerkats. Watch the amazement in your child eyes as they view many different, mammals, reptiles, birds and insects. It will be so much fun for you and your child when you take homeschooling out of the home.

Home Schooling Can Be A Great Choice For Young Children

With Charlie not being able to attend school this year I am struggling as I do not want him to be behind when he starts next year. I am trying to decide if I should put him in Kindegarden or move him into first, If I do first I know I am going to have to really buckle down and work with him. My thing is I am not sure what all he should know to start either grade.

So then I go back to if I did Homeschool I could teach him at my own level and teach him what I would like for him to know. Like Praying. Which is a big thing in our home. So I thought I would share the following article with you and then ask you for your thoughts Please.

Homeschooling has become increasingly popular in recent years. Over the years there have been many arguments regarding home schooling. Experts say that there are advantages and disadvantages when you homeschool your child. Many feel that the disadvantages are far outweighed by the advantages and opt to home school their children as opposed to sending them to a traditional brick and mortar school.

The reason many families prefer homeschooling is because of the diversity. Parents get to choose which curriculum their child uses depending on which home school route they take.

There are free homeschool option where the family is provided with everything the child needs to learn including a great curriculum depending on which state you live in. There are also low cost options where the child doesn't receive books but instead does every single lesson on the computer.

There are virtual private schools as well where the parent pays for the education the same as if their child attended a traditional private school. This choice would only be a problem if the family was unable to afford the monthly or yearly payments. A parent could even opt to a hire tutor that comes out to the home to teach their child. However some parents decide to go it alone and come up with their own curriculum after doing some research.

Each family has to make the choice best for their child. Just as all children are not the same there is not one clear cut way for home schooling. Many of the options could work if applied properly.

Homeschooling can enhance the families relationship as they spend more time together learning, sharing and growing together. Parents will spend more time with their children. For families who are having a hard time communicating, parent and child will learn to communicate even better with each other. Communication is very important and will improve as both parties speak and listen to each other often.

Homeschooling parents feel good knowing that they can watch their young ones blossom as they learn in a safe environment. In particularly violent neighborhoods home schooling can be a safe way to ensure your child a good education.

Homeschooling doesn't mean that a child has to be anti-social as the parent can plan fun educational trips as well as meet up with other home schooled children and their parents. Arts and crafts, music and gym can also be done at home. If they parents get creative they can create a wonderful experience for their child.

Some public learning environments might not be as conducive for learning as the child deals with situations that could affect them socially mentally and academically. It is much easier for a child to learn in calm stress free environment.

This is not to say that all traditional schools are bad learning environments because there are some great brick and mortar schools out there depending on where you live or if you can afford the tuition if it is a private school.

If you are going a costly route with your child's home school education you may find that you can cut back in other ways to accommodate your new budget.

Homeschooling can be a wonderful option for you and your young children. You can even continue their home school education until they graduate from high school if you like.

Today I would like to share with you another item that is for the Christmas Gift Guide on Mommies Point of View. This is a set of books called Just The Basics and it is from Laughing Giraffe Books http://www.laughinggiraffebooks.com/just-the-basics
This is a set if books that is good for both girls and boys. I showed it to Charlie and he was so excited as the books where wrapped and so it made him think he was getting mail which he Loves to do.

I liked the set as it came with several different books and so I could break them down into different days so it seemed like he was getting mail more than just once. He even liked the paper that they wrapped it in as he likes green.

With his Birthday being right before Christmas I think these would make a nice gift as I would be able to break them down into multiple gifts.

Just The Basics

Eating the Alphabet Charlie Loved this book and keeps asking me to reread it as he is learning his ABC's and he says it is helping him. I can see that it is and so I am so glad we got it.

Counting with Wayne Thiebaud This book has helped Charlie with his counting I am so glad it was included. I enjoyed it just as much as Charlie did.

Mouse Paint This is the one that David and Charlie both liked. They loved that it had a mouse in it. They wanted to know if there where more of this book.

Today is Monday This one was fun to read and to try to explain to Charlie as he is trying to learn the days of the week and gets confused but at least with this book he was willing to try.

Many Colored Days This one would have been Suzzane's favorite as she Loved Dr. Seuss not so much mine as I was tired of his books as Suzzane and my nephew had me read them a thousand times. But it did allow me to share Suzzane with Charlie and this was so nice.
