Charlie has been begging to review Kidz Gear Headset

Kidz Gear Home

So before I begin my work today I wanted to surprise Charlie and write my review for Kidz Gear Headset as it will make my life easier and more pleasent. So before I share my thoughts with you I would like to let you know I was sent Kidz Gear Headset to try out for free, In exchange for this review. But the thoughts in the review are all mine and mine alone.

Once they arrived Charlie opened the box and took them out. I asked him what he thought of the box they arrived in and Charlie says he like the logo on the box as it pops. Plus the blue is  a pretty color. The little boy is cute and someone he would like to know.

I then sat down with Charlie and we read the front of the box. He asked me what "Ideal for Education" meant and once I explained it to Charlie. He said that is great. May I take them to school to show my new teacher so I knew it was a huge hit with him. I told him once school started and we meet his teacher we would ask. Which satisfied him.

Then we turned the box around and discussed the different ways he could use the headphones. Which he liked knowing. Charlies favorite way is in the car and with the TV. Although Charlie did ask me if he could use them with his Stereo and I assured him he could.

I asked Charlie if he thought his friends would like the Headset and he said yes, they would. As well as it would make a nice present for them. Plus he said they would be nice to give to his dad to use at work.

Boy oh Boy I take beautiful pictures. But it is hard to catch Charlie and keep him still to take them at all. So at least you can see a little bit of him. Plus the picture below is better. You can at least see his face. Now if he would smile I would be all set.

So all in all Charlie gives his HeadSet from Kidz Gear 2 Thumbs up which is the best in Charlies book. Once he tried them on I asked how they fit and he said perfectly. I also asked if they was comfortable and he said yes. I liked how well made they are. As did David. Plus David liked how easy they are to use as Charlie will be able to do it by himself.

So all in all the HeadSet from Kidz Gear is a huge success and something I plan on purchasing more of. As I love all the different colors they come in. Plus there is other items I would like to see about getting Charlie.

So if you have not heard of Kidz Gear check them out at: http://www.gearforkidz.com/shop2.html If you have used them let me know what you think of them. Or if you have not and you visit the site let me know what you found you would like to try out. If it is the HeadSet which color would you get and why?

Charlie was sent the Blue set and I would like the pink or purple set and my sister would like the green set she says. As for David he says if they would work for him he would like to have a pair of black ones. Which did not surprise me as everything he has he wants it in black. But not me as I am not a black person. Except in the clothes I wear. As I only wear black paints or shorts.

Make Homeschool Learning Fun.

Make Homeschool Learning Fun.

The main point of homeschooling is to teach your child their core subjects like math, reading, history and science in an environment that you approve of. While it is important for the children to have a good curriculum to learn from there is no reason that you can't make homeschool learning fun.

Instead of just reading about science experiments in your child's text book, you can purchase the supplies and take a hands on approach. There is a big difference in reading about something and experiencing it.

Create a learning game based on a subject your child is learning and get the whole family involved. Give out small prizes to the winners.

Help your child to write a song or a poem about a book they are currently reading and then let them read or recite it to the rest of the family.

Purchase buttons, beads and other small objects for math. Addition, subtraction and multiplication doesn't always have to be on paper.

Take a trip to your local zoo, museum or aquarium. You child can have fun and learn at the same time as they observe different types of animal, ancient artifacts and wild sea life.

If your local zoo has a petting zoo for children they can get up close and personal with some of their favorite animals. They can feed the animals as well.

Some museums have exhibits especially for children where they can take a more hands on approach and touch instead of just looking.  Your child can learn how the human body works or even how a bus is operated.

When teaching geography you could have a "day" centered around whatever region, country, state or city you are learning about that day where you serve their native foods and listen to their music.

When you make homeschool learning fun it becomes much more enjoyable and can be a wonderful bonding experience between you and your child

Geared For Imaganation

Today I thought I would share with you one of the items that Charlie will find in his stocking from Santa this year. It is called Plu Plus and it is 300 basic pices of items that are almost like lego's. Only they are not think blocks like legos. These are more flat and they look more like a piece from a jigsaw puzzle. I like that they are easier for him to handle. less bulky and much easier to store. I also like the colors that they come in. We have used them for home school as well as just to play with. I can tell you that David and I have even talked about buying him more sets of these as they help Charlie use his imganation. I like the fact that they come in both neon and non neon colors. As the neon ones would make a nice gift for a girl. Charlie and I will spend hours and house putting all types of things together with these. I can not wait until Christmas and for him to find them in his stocking. I want to see what he deicedes to do with them. I bed he makes a house for his Robots. What would your children make with them? Would you use them in home school or just for play time? Would you get the neon ones or the regualar colors? What do they remind you of? Glenda

This is a set if books that is good for both girls and boys. I showed it to Charlie and he was so excited as the books where wrapped and so it made him think he was getting mail which he Loves to do.

I liked the set as it came with several different books and so I could break them down into different days so it seemed like he was getting mail more than just once. He even liked the paper that they wrapped it in as he likes green.

With his Birthday being right before Christmas I think these would make a nice gift as I would be able to break them down into multiple gifts.

Just The Basics

Eating the Alphabet Charlie Loved this book and keeps asking me to reread it as he is learning his ABC's and he says it is helping him. I can see that it is and so I am so glad we got it.

Counting with Wayne Thiebaud This book has helped Charlie with his counting I am so glad it was included. I enjoyed it just as much as Charlie did.

Mouse Paint This is the one that David and Charlie both liked. They loved that it had a mouse in it. They wanted to know if there where more of this book.

Today is Monday This one was fun to read and to try to explain to Charlie as he is trying to learn the days of the week and gets confused but at least with this book he was willing to try.

Many Colored Days This one would have been Suzzane's favorite as she Loved Dr. Seuss not so much mine as I was tired of his books as Suzzane and my nephew had me read them a thousand times. But it did allow me to share Suzzane with Charlie and this was so nice.

Leap Frog Little Touches Big Learning!!!

Today I would like to share with you the items Charlie and I where sent from Leap Frog to host a party with. I can tell you I knew it would be a hit when I unpacked the items we where sent from Leap Frog.

Since I knew when I opened the Guitar that Charlie would not want to look at anything else I kept it hidden until the end.

I had his friend Thomas who is 2 1/2 come over and a couple other boys and we all sat down in my living room and I asked them all what they would like to be when they grew up.

They all wanted to be race car drivers.

So I pulled out the Guitar and I said since no one would like to become a Rock Star I think I will send this back.

You should have heard them all change there answers.

So I let them draw numbers and then I allowed them to stand and play a song for everyone.

They had so much fun and the songs where so funny.

I was rolling on the floor.

Once David arrived home I let Charlie get the Guitar back out to play a song for his dad and before Charlie could take it from me David took it and started to play a song for us.

So once he was done I had Charlie sit down with David and show him all the things the Guitar could do and I can tell you David was so impressed.

Then I told Charlie I need to run over to my sisters and he had to take the Guitar with him so he would sign her a song. She Loved it.

Now I know to get Charlie a Karoki Machine for Christmas as he keeps telling me he is going to be a Rock Star Soccer player and so with this and a set of drums and a Karoke Machine he would be all set.

The Guitar from Leap Frog is one of my favorite items as well as I love the songs it plays. It has helped Charlie with his ABC;s which is a God send to me.

Another thing I like about the Guitar from Leap Frog is that it comes with 10 songs so Charlie will not get burned out with it.

If you have a little one who would like to have a Leap Frog Guitar then Please check out the contest that is going on now.

Charlie and I opened this bus called Little Touches Big Learning and I must say that it lives up to its name. Little Touches was  a item I  I thought Charlie  would say  was for a  Baby but he did not. Which I was amazed about. But since I thought that with the Little Touches Learning Bus  I was prepared to help him see it was not. But once we opened the Little Touches Big Learning bus  and he saw all he would be able to do he was hooked. He even took the Leanring Touches Bus  next door to share with his friend Thomas who is 2. They both just sat and pushed the buttons and kept repeating the letters over and over. I can tell you this is going to be one item we will get a whole lot of use out of. I like the fact that the letters are big enough that Charlie can copy them when it is time for him to practice his letters. I also like the different colors as it allows us to go over his colors and discuss the different items those colors can be. Another thing Charlie Loves with this is that it has songs. He has listened to them so much that he know has them all memorized. I l like that there is 3 different sections we can switch between. So on the days we do his school work we can chose which ones we want to do and when.  I like that we can connect online with the Leap Frog Learning Path as this gives us more things to learn. With all of the items that Leap Frog puts out I was once again impressed with the amount of things this one toy can do and how it will help Charlie in his learning.  If you have not seen it Please take the time to check it out as it would make a difference in the way a child learns.

Moms views on..... Learning Aids

Hello, everyone today is Sunday and I am planning for my week.

In my week I always make time to teach my son something new as
will be starting classes soon at the Rec. and I do not want him going
in not knowing anything so I have been spending a lot of time on the

Learning Link website as it allows me to learn how my son learns best
as they have a test I can use. Such as Brain Retraining
brain retraining and I also did the Dyscalculia Testing on myself
as sometimes I think I am this way. If you feel like this then Please
check out the test here http://www.learning-aids.com/testing-dyscalculia
I also will be testing my husband and son. You see my husband has never
learned to read and he can barely write so it would be nice if I can find
out why he has problems and help him so he could help our son.
I will be giving away one of the online course so Please stay tuned to
find out how you might win one.

Learning Aids~ What is offered and what they do.
Dysgraphia Treatment- Our free dyscalculia test is an easy to do worksheet you can do at home. The assessment will find weaknesses and strengths so you can be more informed on how to deal with learning problems.

Dyslexia Test-When thinking about dysgraphia, people usually don’t think of it as a learning disability. Writing is just difficult for my child. Or, my child has poor handwriting, but so do doctors. Yet, dysgraphia is real and the sooner that we consider it a learning problem and deal with it as such, the sooner we can deal with it in a positive manner. Dysgraphia by definition is a learning disability resulting from the difficulty in expressing thoughts in writing and graphing.Read more....

Symptoms of Dyslexia - Free Assessment

So, how do you know if your child has dyslexia? Following are some general symptoms of dyslexia that can serve as a guide for the steps you need to take if your child has these symptoms.
•Slow, labored inaccurate reading of single words in isolation
•Slow, choppy oral reading while ignoring punctuation
•Becomes visibly tired after reading for a short time
•Poor reading comprehension
•When reading, frequently reverses, inverts, or transposes letters or words

Mixed Dominance-Many students with learning disabilities are mixed dominant. This can interfere with learning among other things. The brain likes for one side of the body to be in charge, so to speak, and when mixed dominance pops up, it can create all kinds of havoc.Read more...

Girl Reading

Dyscalculia Mondifications- Dyscalculia is a big word, a mouth full, really. Most people are aware of it and aware that it has to do with problems doing math. But this syndrome encases so much more than simple math inefficiencies. Dyslexia is so common that everybody knows what it is, and reading and writing problems seem to get all of the attention. But what about math problems? Is it just math anxiety, or is there a real underlying problem? Read more...

Brain Retraining- Brain Retraining is done through a series of physical exercises that selectively access a certain part of the brain by having the eyes look in a specified direction. The direction is related to a sensory stimulation point. Read more...

Learning Differences- Learning Difference – an interference with a person’s ability to process information, which creates a gap between intellectual capabilities and performance

Lisa’s definition – a catch-all phrase for any kind of difference in learning – a kinder term to use for anyone who isn’t learning as expected
Learning differences is a term that I really like. We all learn differently and it takes this into consideration. The sad part of our educational system in America is that it fails to understand and deal with the fact that we all learn differently. Learn More...

Dealing with Dysculculia- Math is like a foreign language to them

We are asking them to speak it fluently in front of a large group of people.
Can you imagine the stress that creates?
Generally, once dyscalculia is diagnosed, the student is given modifications to help. Modifications are great. The best modification for dyscalculia is to arrange to have the student re-take a math test that was failed. This sure takes the pressure off. There are other modifications that can help, but it is most beneficial to get to the root of the problem. The left and right side of the brain must be considered. The processing must be dealt with. The anxiety must be calmed. Then, and only then, will the student succeed.

I Love this game for so many reasons but one of the most important is it has brought my husband and I closer as he has trouble reading and we have been playing this game and it is helping him think how words are spelled and it has made him decide to look words up which he has never wanted to do.

Plus he has even gotten it out when he has been at his mothers to play with his grandads which is nice as it is bringing them closer and he feels like he is doing something with them. I can even tell his mom is impressed with the game as she has insisted  on buying all the grandkids one for Christmas as it will help them with there spelling and help them in school.

If you have children who struggle with there spelling then I would suggest you check into KABAM. Please check out there site.
