Evriholder http://www.evriholder.com

Today I would like to share with you a fun store I found. It is called EVRIHOLDER and you can check it out at This is a online store that carries so many fun and unique items that I could stay on all day shopping. When I was on there I found items that I needed in the kitchen and bathroom. I found items that would make nice stocking stuffers. I also found items that would go good in the party bags I am putting together for Charlies Birthday. With a little one it is so much easier to do my Christmas Shopping online and I was worried about how I would fill his stocking and also Davids. With this store I do not have to worry as they have everything I need. The nice thing is I could even let David and Charlie shop on the site for me and I would have no clue what they would pick as there is so many items I would like to have. I can tell you that I will be asking Santa to stop by there and pick up some of the items I saw not only for me but for the people on my list. I was allowed to chose 5 items that I could review and I must tell you that was so hard to do as they had so many items I would like to check out. The nice part is that they have items for every room in your house. Let me share with you some of the items I chose and who I chose them for as well as why I picked them. The first item I picked was a pack of Crazeee-Strawz as Charlie and I use straws all the time. When I saw then I knew they would make a nice stocking stuffer for him and his friends. Plus I could put them in the party bags I am putting together. I could even stick one in my stocking as I am a big kid and think they would make drinking my tea so much more fun. I think I need to have a Girls Nite out and we use these as it. I like that the colors are colors Charlie would like. He would take the blue and green. David the orange and me the pink. knowing that there is 8 straws in the package is nice as well as this is how many kids will be at the Birthday party.
The next item I chose was also for Charlie and it is the Sip "R" Eyes and it is a pair of funny glasses and it is from Nesquik. Which Charlie and I drink all the time and so with these I could buy him a bottle of chocolate syrup and wrap them up together and it would make a nice present. Or I could lay them out for him to find on Christmas Eve to use at our breakfast. The only problem with that is that David wants a pair as well and so it seems I will be shopping with Evriholder again before Christmas as I like to find new and unusal items to put in the stocking and Charlie would think it is funny to see his dad with a pair of these glasses on. In fact I may even have to order a pair for me.
The third item was also for Charlie but it is candles that I can use on his Birthday cake and they are called Colorific Candl'z. I chose them as the flame is the same color as the candles and I thought the children at Charlies Birthday party would enjoy them. Plus there is 12 in the package and with 2 parties on that day it was enough for both of them. I like the colors of the candles and I know Charlie will as well as they are his favorite colors. There also biodegradable which is nice. plus non toxic and this is something we need when there is children around. The next items is one I picked out for David and it is a wine saver as he loves to open a bottle of wine and stick it back in the icebox. By the time he finishes it it is flat. I am hopping this will cut down on some of the waste. I like that it is easy to use. I think it would make a nice gift for some of the people here. It has a lid with it that would make pouring the wine so much easier. So Please check it out and let me know what you think of it.
The last item I chose was a Purse-Hook for myself. I figured I was good and picked items out for everyone else and so I thought I deserved something as well. I chose it as it had a heart on it and I collect hearts. I also liked that it would keep my purse up off the floor. I think every lady who carries a bag should have one. I like that it is small enough to fit in my bag so I always have it with me. I also like knowing it holds 11 lbs as it would hold a small bag that Charlie fills with toys and I would not always have to bend down to pick it up.
So if you have not heard of Evriholder Please check them out at http://www.Evriholder.com As they will make all of your shopping needs so much easier. I can say this as there is still so many items I would like to purchase from there. As they carry the brands I grew up with like Hostess and Campbells. Glenda

Perfume though the bottles of time...

In my attempt to create the feeling of "being there" in my novels, I try to keep as many of the senses engaged as possible. Especially in really key scenes where I slow everything down, such as first sight, or first touch, I pull in sensory details other than sight or sound. What does that leave? Touch, taste and scent.

Scent is usually easy, especially if the hero or heroine is in a room because they could smell food or a bouquet of flowers, but when they are in an embrace and all they smell is each other, what do they smell? Okay, the hero I generally have no problem with, but what about the heroine? What does she smell like to the hero?

It seems like historical heroines always smell of roses or lavender or so I wanted my heroine to wear a more original scent. So what did I choose?

Well, I confess in the past I chose lavender, because that seemed to be a popular scent for women to put in their final hair rinse. And okay, I admit it; I needed to do some research first. I couldn’t write down "roses" because rose water reminds me of grandmas, not spunky beautiful young heroines.

So what other scents would a nineteenth-century woman have worn? Citrusy? I like citrus, but that didn’t seem very Regency. I mean, what regency heroine smells like oranges? Original is one thing, but I don’t want to bump out the reader either. And musk reminds me of men. So I ventured out to the internet to find an alternative.

I found Lilac Vegetal, which sounds great except for the "Vegetal" part which sounds like one of those health food vegetable drinks that are green and difficult to swallow.

I stumbled on a site about the Grasse region in France, a place famous for its perfume. The early perfumes created here were scented with ambergris and wild myrtle. I have no idea what ambergris smells like, and I’m willing to bet my readers don’t either. Plus it said it's created from the fatty secretions of the sperm whale. Eew! And wild myrtle? I doubt my hero wouldn't recognize the scent of wild myrtle. I sure wouldn't.

Then I found the motherlode in the 13th Cenutry Perfumery. We can all use this! Tons of spices are listed, but I only went for the scents I both recognize and, more importantly, find appealing.

Apple, clover, Lily of the Valley, mint, violet, apricot, cinnamon, jasmine, sandalwood, sweet orange. Okay, that last one, I’ll change to orange blossom lest she smell like an orange julius.
I also found the ingredients of Eau de Cologne, popular from the 18th century on: rosemary, neroli, bergamot and lemon. Mmm. Bergamot. Makes me think of Earl Grey Tea. Not exactly a feminine scent, though.

Then I found it. Violets!! Huzzah!!!! I recognize that smell and it’s got this magical quality that makes it come and go in waves, so each time it returns, it renews itself so it's a very provactive fragrance that would tempt the hero even before he has her in a clench! Woo hoo!
Okay, sweetie, you soooo smell like violets!
But what about the next heroine? Any suggestions?
