Summer does not mean reading should stop!!

So each Summer I enroll Charlie and I into the Summer Reading program at the library. As he has a chance to win prizes for reading. Plus it gets him into the spirit of wanting to visit the library which I like. The only thing I do not like about the program is that it is only during the Summer.

No usually I am bad and do not visit the Library the way we should. As everyone in the family should read. So for us I always pick up the magazines and books I want to read at Walmart. Which is not helping Charlie as there is times I can not afford a book for both of us. or he wants a toy and instead of arguing I let him get the toy and he does not have a book to read that week.

Plus I always use the excuse there is not enough hours in the day for him to read. Which is not true as you can take a book with you anywhere and you should. As a adult I do. Now why I do not make Charlie do the same things is a mystery to me.

But Charlies dad hates reading and can not read. So this is where Charlie gets a lot of I do not want to read. Or if Dad doesn't have to why should I? So I am trying to get away from that and find books they both would enjoy. This way Charlie can help his dad learn to read.

Plus it will help Charlie not only in school but in life as well. So today I would like to share a list of 27 books that has "Winter" in it. Because before we know it it will be here. So while it is hot outside you and your children can read these fun books and make plans for Winter!!!

The books are on another Bloggers site called Crystal and Co. and you can check them out at:

Once you do come back and let me know what you think of them. Had your children read any of them? Or was there any you saw you would like to read?

As Charlie and I are going to find them in our Library and see how long it takes us to read all of them. Plus I want to see how many Charlie can read on his own without help from me or David.

Alphabet Zoo is a personalized book I received for a review.

If you have not had a chance to check out the site called  Little Heroes at  http://www.littleheroes.com/ and you have small children or you are a teacher you should as the books they carry are awesome. I was sent Alphabet Zoo from them and I must tell you it has become one of Charlies favorite books as it has not only him inside it but his Aunt Debbie and Cousin David. These are 2 of his most favorite people in the world and so I knew this would make a nice Gift for Charlie. Once it arrived I sat down and read it to both Charlie and David and they both where surprised to find out that it had them both in it. When I was reading it I noticed at the top of every page the letter we would be learning so the next time I read it to Charlie I am going to point the letters out and have him right them at the same tine as it will be good practice for him. Showing him his name in the book has helped him with learning to spell. This has made teaching him easier and I would use these books with anyone I home schooled as it not only teaches reading but also writing. When we where reading Alphabet Zoo there was animals in here I did not know and so David and I as well as Charlie took the time to look them up on the internet. Which was fun as we where all able to learn things together. So even though this is a children's book it taught David and I both something. Here is where you can check out there line of personalized preschool learning books

What's the story?

When a Little Hero takes a trip to the zoo, he finds himself on an exciting ABC hunt. Helped by family and friends, the Little Hero learns about animals and the alphabet along the way! Comical rhymes and cute zoo characters create a fun learning adventure!

What can you personalize?

Name. Hair. Eyes. Skin tone. Clothes. Glasses. Everything but the kitchen sink!

When I am able to the next book I would like to get for Charlie is either The Obnoxious Dragon as Charlie can be this way. Or the The Golden Goal as Charlie loves to play Soccer.  There is more I would get for him but this is a start.  As she loves the Disney Princesses and this is my favorite one.

I also found some books I would like to get for the little girl I watch Baby J as she is about ready to learn her abc's and she loves to be read too. If I could I would get her this one called

Moms Reviews on books for little ones!

Thomas Gets Tricked~ vaule $14.95

Thomas & Friends: Thomas Gets Tricked

My family is avid Thomas The Train fans, and we each
have our own train. I am Thomas, my husband is
Toby The Boxcar, and Charlie is Charlie, as it is purple
and mommy's favorite color. One day while searching
the net, I found Little One Books and I was hooked.
They have DVDs, music, and movies I can not find in other places.
I contacted them to see if they would work with bloggers and I was told yes and that I could pick one product out to review.
I had so much trouble deciding, as they have books
on trains, firetrucks, and TRACTORS so I finally decided
on Thomas Gets Tricked, and I must tell you, we love it!
There are 7 movies in it; my son likes the singing and
I like that it teaches a lesson.
