My dream house would have a wrap around porch

If I had this home I would never go inside as I would live on this PORCH. How about you??

But not only that it would be a older home like from the 50 and 60's as the rooms are usually bigger. Plus a lot of them come with land. So every time David and I think about purchasing a home I keep saying a "older home" please as we can get so much more in it than a new home. Plus they have more character and hidden gems in them.

What type of house would you like? Would it be a newer home or older? In this home what would be your dream item? For me I would say it would be a Garden Tub but I have that in our trailer and I love it. Or would it be a Fireplace? Which I also have in this trailer.

So you see in a way this is my dream home but there is no porch of any kind and no where to plant flowers. We do have a yard but it is tiny and it is all red dirt which is horrible. Plus no grass will grow in our yards. Also there is no where to put a swing or sand box or even club house for Charlie which I hate!!

So as I was browsing online today I found homes made from Barns and I would like to see about finding a barn and turning it into a home for Charlie and I as I know it would have plenty of character and also plenty of room. I can see it being decorated in western decor which is my favorite style of furniture.

On this barn I would be able to add a wrap around porch as well as a Balcony to turn into a play area for Charlie to play on. Or we could add window seats and cushions and make it a reading area. Which would be something I would enjoy because it would give me a chance to get away from everyone. Which is something I desperately need right

If you would like to know about Barns being turned into homes check out this article I found on This Old House at: http://www.thisoldhouse.com/toh/photos/0,,20829940,00.html?xid=hi-150818-run-down-barns-turned-into-family-homes&TOH
If you do take a look let me know which Barn/Home you would chose and why.

As for Charlie he would like the white one and David would like the one with the Trailer in front of it. As for me I would like the redish brown one in the top corner. As it looks more like a home that a Barn. But each of these makes me wish I could see inside them as I would love knowing how they decorated them.

Movie Tavern offers Retro Movies

I love Movies and have quite a few that are my favorite I could watch all day every day and never ever get tired of them. So when I found out Movie Tavern host "Retro Cinema". I knew it would be something I would like to take Charlie to. As I like introducing him to the movies I grew up on. As most of them he likes. Plus it allows me to share things his sister Suzzane enjoyed as she had seen most of these films with me.

Last month they showed Top Gun and I had waited for months for it to come to the Theater and when it did Charlie and I was not able to attend it. I was so devastated as this has been his favorite movie since he was about 2 1/2 as he loves the music just as much as I do.

Classic Films on the Big Screen!

So soon they will be showing Grease and it is not a film I will miss. As I love it and so did my daughter and Nephew. Plus Charlie does as well. He can sing all of the songs in it just as I can. So with this one being a Sing Along it will make it even more fun to see.

So I thought I would share the poster with you so you could see which Retro Films they will be showing and pick out a few to take your family to see. As it is such a great way to make memories with every member of your family.

Charlie and Summer Reading

Last year Charlie has a little bit of trouble in school with not only his reading but his writing. So this Summer I wanted to make sure he spent time on both of it. As he will be in 2nd grade and since he did not get a good teacher last year. I wanted to make sure he was ahead this year. Just encase we end up with a teacher that does not send the items home children need.

So as I was browsing online to find things for Charlie to do I found a blog called Making Time for Mommy and I am so glad I did as she had a list of places to find Summer Reading. So Charlie and I have been working through her list and it is helping.

As Charlies reading is improving every day. Now if I could get David to join in we might be able to improve his reading as well. But I can tell you even though he says he would like to get better he will not join us in these programs. But I would as I love to read.

I have always had my daughter and I join the Summer Library reading program when she was here. So I do the same thing with Charlie. Who is so funny as he will walk into the library and clean off a whole shelf and bring all the books home and have them read in just a couple days.

So if you would like to find out about some of the Summer Reading Programs going on you can by visiting Making Time for Mommy at http://www.makingtimeformommy.com/2015/05/06/free-summer-reading-programs-for-kids
If you do check out Making Time for Mommy let me know what you found on her blog that you enjoyed.

Making Time For Mommy

As I want to also read her 2015 Summer Bucket list for families. As I am sure there will be things on it I can do with Charlie and David. That we may never have thought of doing.

Minted now offers Art and it is so cool!!

This is a review for Minted as I was approached by them to conduct a review in exchange for a Gift Card. But even though I was asked to conduct a review in exchange for a Gift Card all the thoughts in the review are mine and my families.

Minted

Minted is know we're offering new and completely different families of products. Which make it  a very exciting time! So I would like to invite you to check out some pieces from there art collection (www.minted.com/art)? As I shopped the site looking at the different art I found pieces so many of my friends would love. As they offer such a wide variety of art.

From abstract to country to modern. So no matter what type of art you prefer for your home I promise you you will find just the right piece. For every room in your home. or for those on your Gift Giving list. As I saw pieces of art both adults and children would like.

Once I finished looking on Minted at the art collection I called Charlie in to look as I wanted to see if there was anything for his room he would like to have. Which I was sure he would pick the British Terrier  I saw and I was right as it was the first piece he chose. I asked why and he says he loved the color of the dog. . Plus it would allow him to have his dream dog as he thought it was a Bull Dog and since Charlie is only 7 I did not tell him it wasn't a Bull  Dog as I did not want to disappoint him. Because we we will not get him a real one he deserves a painted one.

Once he was done looking around I asked David to check out the site with me as I wanted to see what he would chose and he says he liked "To The Ski Slopes" as I love Snow and Volkswagons and this represents both. So he said he would like to have it to either put in my office or over our bed. As it would make me happy. As David knows this is my dream car and that one day I would like to own one. "AWW" isn't he just so sweet???

As for me I chose a Butterfly painting that I would be able to hang on the wall in our home that is dedicated to Suzzane. As she is not here anymore so we refer to her as a Butterfly flying free. So this would allow us to have a part of her at all times. Which would mean a lot to me as I miss her so much.

http://www.minted.com/product/wall-art-prints/MIN-EKC-GNA/ulysses?org=title

As I browsed the site I also found a cow which would be nice to hang in our dinning room as my mom collected Cows and since she is not her  anymore as well it would allow a part of her to be with us as we sat down to dinner each night.

All in all I must say Minted Art Collection was a huge hit and I can not wait till I am able to purchase a lot of these paintings not only for my home but to give as gifts as well. As I found quite a few paintings my friends and family would enjoy just as much as Charlie, David and I did.

Charlie loves Despicable Me and the Minions

But if I must confess I do as well. David likes knowing there is one called Dave. I just like the purple one and also the one in the Hawaiian outfit. I just think there should be a girl. But Charlie and David do not think so. As for Charlie he loves all of them and every movie that is out about them.

He has curtains in his room with them on it. Plus stickers. Then last night while walking around Targets we ended up in the school supply aisle and David and Charlie found a note book and also a Crayon Bag. I found a lunch kit and back pack. So know we know which items Charlie wants for school. Shopping will be easier and faster.

Next is school clothes and I bet you half of them have Minions on them as well. If not I am going to be totally surprised. As we can not walk into any store without him stopping at the Shirts to see if there is new Minion T Shirts.

Charlie is also counting down to his Birthday and has already picked out the Minion cake and cupcakes he wants for his Birthday. Plus I have found some Minions I want to get him for his Birthday. Including the Fart Gun.

All three of us are counting down to when the Movie comes out and we have already decided we will have to purchase it on DVD without even seeing it. As I know Charlie will want to add it to his collection. As he has the other two movies and watches them over and over and over.

So today I would like to share with you a fun Craft I found on The Latest Musings which is called How To Make Minion Puppets as I know Charlie would love them. Plus we can make them for the Goody Bags I will be handing out at his Birthday party.

The Story of Marine Hero Lucca by Maria Goodavage

I love books about animals as well as movies. So when I saw Top Dog by Maria Goodavage on another blog I knew it would be a book I would enjoy reading. As my daughter Suzzane had a
German Shepard when she was killed. His name was Sam Tigger Ice and he was the best dog ever. So reading this book will be both bittersweet but nice. As it will make me miss Suzzane and Sam a lot more. But it will also give me new memories as I can share the book with David and Charlie.

We went to the movies and saw Max!!

Max

On Saturday morning I woke Charlie and David up to go to Movie Tavern with me to see "Max" as I had been wanting to see it ever since it started being advertised on TV. But Movie Tavern also had a couple other movies Charlie wanted to see. So it was hard coming to a decision to see Max. Because Charlie and I also want to see Inside and Out but as Charlie was walking through the house he remembered Suzzane had a German Shepard that looked like Max. Only Max is not a German Shepard. If you want to know what he is you will need to watch the movie!!! So Charlie decided we should see it and watch "inside Out" next week. Which I was so happy to do as I really really wanted to see Max.

So we all get up and go at 9 am at Movie Tavern offers Breakfast or you can order Popcorn. So we left and drove to the Theater once there we went up and purchased the tickets. I was amazed as there was only 2 other people going inside to see Max. By the time it started there was only 7 people watching Max.

So I must say if you have not seen it you should as you will laugh and cry. As Max is the perfect movie for everyone of all ages.  Men, women and children will all fall in love with Max. I could not have picked a better movie for us all to see. I can not wait till it is out on DVD as I want to purchase it for our collection. But also as a gift for several people who I know will enjoy it.

If you would like to know more about Max you can watch a trailer of it on You Tube at: https://youtu.be/6EPPMCwD5bw

From someone that has lost someone I can tell you these dogs are very loyal because I took my German Shepard out to my daughters grave as Sam was her dog and before I could get out of the car he had found her grave and was laying on top of it. I can never tell you how proud I was to call him my dog but I was and I still am.

This movie has a beautiful song in it as well and I did not know "Blake Shelton" sang it but after I found out he did I have to purchase it. As he is my sons favorite singer and we love him on the "Voice". So not only will the movie make a nice Christmas present but the CD will as well for Charlie!! If you would like to hear Blakes song you can check it out at: https://youtu.be/mkfsaloBiro

I just wish Suzzane was here to watch Max with us as I know she would have loved it and wanted it as well. I also think Leslie would as well as she also has a German Shepard and so I am going to call her today and let her know her and Toby have to see it as soon as possible.

Camerons All Purpose Open Fire Grill

Everyone knows yesterday was "FATHERS DAY" and that most men like to grill. So for David this year for "Fathers Day" I wanted to get him something new and unusual. So as I looked for something I did not find anything I liked. Until I received a email and it mentioned  Camerons All Purpose Open Fire Grill. As David will cook out every day no matter what type of weather we are having.

So today I would like to share with you my thoughts on Camerons All Purpose Open Grill                   and David's reaction to it. But before I do I would like to let you know I was sent                           Camerons All Purpose Open Grill for the review.

On Saturday we went shopping for groceries for "Fathers Day". As we walked though the store David mentioned he would like to a Steak and to have it cooked on the grill. But that we was out of gas for the grill so that was out. But I told him to get the Steak and see if he could use his moms grill which he was not crazy about.

Or I could take him out to get a steak but he did not want to go out to eat. So he ended up purchasing some Pork Chops and when he went to pay for them. I called his mom and asked if she was going to the store and if so if she would purchase the Steak for me. Which she did,

So on "Fathers Day" we got up and Charlie gave David his gifts which was a shirt and a card. Then we left to go swimming. Once we returned David said I am hungry so I went and got him his present from me. It was the Steak. Once he opened it David asked me how he was supposed to cook it. I said there is a stove in there you can use.

Or if you would run out to the grill and check and see if there is any gas we can cook it on there. So he thought I had filled up the tank, Which I didn't do. But once he walked up to the grill he saw a bag of Kingsford Charcoal and Camerons All Purpose Open Fire Grill and Charlies tents and the items to make Smores so they could camp out in the yard.

David was so surprised. David  just could not quit asking me where I had gotten the grill from. So I brought him inside and showed David the website.  Once on it he found several other items he would like to have,

So he got the Steak ready to cook and low and behold it started to rain. So we was not able to use the grill which upset David so next weekend we are going to plan another Cook Out and Sleep Out and I hope the Weather does not mess with us as we both want to use the grill so badly!!

In the meantime I have somethings I want to share with you that I like about it. One is it comes with a carrying case so I can take it anywhere with us. Which means when we Camp out we will have a way to cook,

Plus it has a non stick cooking surface. Which I like as it means anything we cook will not stick. So I can make Fish for Davids mom as she loves fish. Plus I can cook veg eatables on it. I like how it holds up to 6 lbs as this is enough food for several people.

It is small enough that when traveling it will not take up much space in the car. Plus it is easy to clean. It is reusable which is nice. I also like knowing it comes with a 1 year warranty. This way if something happens to it they will fix it. But I bet it will last and the only thing that will happen is that we wear it out. As we will use it so much!!

Look what I stuck on top of the Box!! It is my box to make "Stuffed Hamburgers" because as soon as David gets his Steak done. The next item I would like for him to make is Stuffed Hamburgers for Debbie and I. As I love love love Hamburgers and this grill will make out of the world burgers for Debbie and I!!!
